Cette semaine, les plus importants scientifiques, chercheurs et praticiens des sciences forestières et des disciplines connexes se réunissent à Salt Lake City, dans l’Utah, pour le 24e congrès mondial de l’Union internationale des instituts de recherches forestières (IUFRO). Le Congrès offre un programme scientifique de présentations et de communications affichées, y compris un certain nombre du Réseau international de forêts modèles (RIFM).
Les membres du RIFM ont apporté de précieuses contributions à la recherche sur l’écologie, la gestion et la biodiversité forestières au cours des vingt dernières années. La recherche est un élément essentiel de l’approche de la forêt modèle, car la recherche fondamentale et appliquée permet aux intervenants de la FM de trouver de nouvelles solutions aux défis et aux possibilités qu’ils découvrent dans le paysage.
